You signed up for this.
There are days when it you want to give up.
You start giving yourself excuses not to finish what you started.
The excitement of the project you had in the beginning is not there anymore.
You wake up feeling sick.
You don’t feel like training and putting in the miles for the marathon you willingly registered for.
You don’t feel good enough to complete the book you are working on.
You have to pay off more things this month than previous months.
You go back to “is what I’m doing making a difference”?
Should I take back the release date for the book I need to complete?
Should I go back to my old job where I felt out of place but paid well?
Unexpected things happen.
Remember when you worked in your full time miserable job. Where you wished you worked for yourself? Where you wanted more time for yourself to do what you wanted. Well, here it is.
How about when you applied for the job of your dreams and it doesn’t feel as exciting but still love it anyway.
Is it what you expected? Not necessarily, but you did it and are doing it.
Why give up now?
After all the endless hours you’ve put in, day in and day out.
The sacrifice you’ve made with family and friends.
This is where you go back to your why and must remember:
You signed up for this.
Nobody forced you to do this.
You made the choice to go for it.
To take that leap of faith and make it happen.
Now that it is here, why go back?
Dolly Parton said this :
“The way I see it, if you want a rainbow, you got to put up with the rain.”
I couldn’t agree more.
When you are doing something that matters to you, giving up is still an option. However, moving forward is what makes it worth it.
What will you make of it?
Will you seize it or reject it?
