Stay in your ground
There is a song I recently heard by Tom Petty with the lyrics that said:
‘No, I’ll stand my ground
Won’t be turned around
And I’ll keep this world from dragging me down
Gonna stand my ground.’
The more I listened to it. The more I thought about the challenges that have came into my life in the past and in the present. How we can look back and reflect in moments when we felt it was impossible to overcome yet, somehow we end up overcoming them. Sometimes it may take longer than anticipated but in the end, it works out the way it is suppose to be.
We must remember no matter how foggy or cloudy it may be, the sun will shine. There will be light again. Unlimited time does not exist. Time comes and goes. Just like the seasons, there is a time and a place for everything. There are memories that will fade like mist. That is why we must learn to treasure, savor the good ones and let go of the unpleasant ones. The highs and the lows will come and go. The road is no straight line for a reason. That is what keeps our momentum going. Life can still be beautiful and have meaning despite all the challenges. It all comes down to the choices we make. To live in regret, fear or learn to appreciate all life is offering you? We can’t control the weather, someone being unkind, but we can control how we choose to respond, show up each day with what is presented to us in our daily life.
Keep staying in your ground.
Keep doing what’s right.
Keep taking it one day at a time.
What are you choosing to do more of to live it happy and fulfilled and what are you choosing to let go of?
