I recently came across these two words that helped me shift and optimize my mindset.

1.Expectancy. →Changed to ‘be open’.

2. Consistency. → Changed to ‘stay concistent’.

Expectancy. This word I found interesting. The quote I came across was “Raise your expectancy instead of depleting it.”-unknown. I agree with this to a certain extent because when we expect, we can get extremely disappointed if it doesn’t happen our way or when we don’t meet our “expectations.” I would change the phrase to ‘be open’ to the possibilities instead of expecting opportunities. Be open to love vs expect love. Be open to positive things coming into your life vs expecting positive things coming into your life. That way you will be less upset about the results or goals you have when they don’t go according to plan. You learn to accept both the good and the bad. When you expect, it’s not giving you options to learn to be ok with something not happening the way you want it to happen. It’s like the quote or saying goes, things are happening for you not to you. Changing your perspective makes a difference.

Consistency. I like this word. Staying consistent I think is important. Those small steps you take each day can help you with your goals, your habits, or whatever it maybe you want to improve on. It makes me think about my writing journey. I been writing consistently for a few years now and even though it has not got to the level I would like; I must remember to continue to work on it. A gentle reminder that it’s ok to write crappy, fail, if nobody reads your posts, if you keep going, keep writing and keep working on it.

Remember to continue working on your craft. Stay consistent and be open.

Keep moving towards your dreams.
